What can the Aura KTP laser do for me?
The Aura KTP laser is used to treat vascular lesions which are skin blemishes due to abnormal blood vessels located directly under the skin’s surface that give the skin a red color. Spider veins (telangiectasias), and port wine stains are examples of vascular lesions. Whether congenital or acquired from sun damage, natural aging, rosacea or from other causes, these abnormal blood vessels can be easily treated with the Aura KTP laser.
How does the Aura KTP laser work?
The Aura KTP laser emits an intense beam of light to gently collapse the abnormal blood vessels without causing rupture or hemorrhage of the vessel. This process allows the vessels to dissolve within the body during the healing process with the treated areas returning to the natural color of your skin.
How many treatments will I need?
This will depend on the size and location of your lesion. Spider veins on the face generally do well with one or two treatments.
What should I expect during and after an Aura KTP laser treatment?
A small handpiece is placed against the affected area and the laser is then activated. You may feel nothing, but some patients report a sensation of a hot pinprick for a fraction of a second. Immediately after your treatment you will experience a slight redness in the treated area which will go away in a few days.
